5 Stars
Very,very good!
I could have given it 4.5 stars because of the slight loss of definition in transfer and a few sound glitches but that would have been unfair to the overall quality of this made for TV (4:3 format) european performance; this is a short version of their Delicate Sound of Thunder Tour (90 min), they left out Shine on you the Crazy Diamond recurring theme you get in full concert versions; that said, what's good about it? Well, a lot: the sound is excellent, the picture is quite good, professional; you see a lot of close ups of David Gilmour who's in great form, smiling and enjoying himself; the choice of camera shots is very fluid and different angles (compared to the excellent Delicate Sound of Thunder dvd offered here); it's quite amazing to see the audience watching the concert in gondolas, with cops trying not to fall in the water on their motor boats (lol); imagine a scene where you have large views of Venice at night, lots of smiling faces; it's fun to see this familiar concert (which I saw in Montreal in 1987) in a different way, even the instrumentation differs somewhat, still very good; all in all, especially for the price and graphics included, this is a must see DVD; I loved it and recommend it.
