After Barry's first hugely successful TV special in 1977, there was no doubt that more were to follow! Here on one DVD are both Barry's 2nd and 3rd Specials from 1978 and 1979 respectively, in very nice quality! This is incredible viewing - Barry, young and hungry, just as he has started to taste enormous success, combined with the 70's TV-variety show mentality, this is a truly surrealistic amazing DVD! Approx. 90 minutes, pretty decent quality on such old shows!
2nd TV Special '78 (Barry's next special with amazing skits and songs, the songs - Daybreak with animation, I Was A Fool To Let You Go 40's skit, Copacabana 40's, Barry introduces Ray Charles but solo Ray performing is cut out, It's A Miracle with Barry and Ray, Tryin' To Get The Feeling Again with rare extra lyrics as in the box set, All The Time, then it's an incredible concert sequence with Can't Smile Without You and Looks Like We Made It with Barry in white glam outfit, intro with Barry's mom in the cab was taken from GMA)
3rd TV Special '79 (Barry's third features more incredible entertainment 70's style, shot mostly on a beautiful white stage set, starts off with the car driving skit leading into Ready To Take A Chance Again, Barry at piano close to the crowd answers questions and one girl goes hysterical, Weekend In New England, Why Don't We Try A Slow Dance, I Write The Songs movie skit, Barry introduces John Denver with a short Denver solo sequence cut out, Barry and John do an Everly Brothers medley of Bye Bye Love/Cathy's Clown/Let It Be Me/Until I Kissed Ya/Bird Dog/Wake Up Little Suzy/Dream, Copacabana, Even Now, and it ends with an amazing Somewhere In The Night!
